LEX Vehicle Leasing has won a new contract to provide cars as part of BT's new employee paid 'Benefits Plus Scheme' for 1996/97. Under the Lex FreeChoice umbrella, Lex Vehicle Leasing will provide 200,000 BT employees and pensioners with a number of options for them to purchase new and used cars. At the heart of the contract is the Inland Revenue approved Lex FreeChoice Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) scheme, which gives employees and pensioners the benefit of buying a new car on this popular new form of finance.

A dedicated freephone has been set up to manage enquiries which is staffed by a team of 15 people in Manchester. Lex has generated a substantial interest from BT employees and pensioners since the scheme went live, and have already delivered a number of P and R registered cars. Under the FreeChoice scheme, BT employees can also purchase new cars through Lex Retail, used cars through Lex Autosales and will receive competitive servicing and repair packages at the network of 120 Lex Autocentres.

The BT contract is the second Lex has won on FreeChoice. The first was with LucasVarity which offers FreeChoice to its 20,000 strong workforce.
