FIAT and Alfa Romeo are gearing up for an imminent major push into the corporate market, with the intention of appealing to fleet managers as much as the product appeals to company car drivers. A month after taking over as managing director of Fiat Auto UK Geoff Smyth is in no doubt of the importance of this country's corporate market and the attention paid to it in Turin.

'The corporate sector is one where we are under-represented,' he said. 'If you look at the range we have to offer, from vans to the GTV Spider, we have the most interesting, comprehensive range we have ever had, and now is the right time for us to complement in organisational terms what we have on the product side to meet the needs of the corporate customer.'
