NO change in company car taxation and the introduction of selective road tolls are two of the key measures called for by the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association in its submission on the Government's integrated transport consultation policy document. In a detailed submission on behalf of more than 1,000 companies in the daily rental, contract hire, leasing and fleet management markets operating more than 1.5 million vehicles the BVRLA:

The BVRLA, which says it is committed to the creation of an integrated transport system, also reminds the Government that vehicles are essential for many people to travel to and from work, carry out their jobs and to transport goods; the transport infrastructure must be improved before any restraints are placed on the use of vehicles; and that cars are essential to personal mobility with people unwilling to switch to public transport until it becomes a safe, cheap, reliable, clean and convenient alternative to cars and particularly company cars.
