LEASE Plan is the latest fleet management company to forge a partnership with a tyre distributor to add tyre management to its portfolio. The company has signed a three-year agreement with FTM to provide a full tyre management service with reporting provided by dedicated software.

The partnership follows similar moves earlier this year by Lex Vehicle Leasing, Autolease and BCH Vehicle Management Services with the first two companies signing up with Kwik-Fit Fleet and the latter with ATS. Lease Plan customers get all-year round-the-clock authorisation, but unlike the Lex/Kwik-Fit partnership, it is not a known cost 'contract hire for tyres' service.

Lease Plan operations manager Jeremy Mills said the initiative could mean more control and significant savings which would be channelled back to the customer through Lease Plan's open calculation system.
