HYUNDAI is offering fleets free servicing as part of a wider support package in a bid to drum up additional corporate business via its dealer network. The importer is aiming to consolidate on meteoric growth and increasing popularity with user-choosers by bringing its dealers closer to the small business sector and equipping them to offer the levels of service corporate customers expect.

Hyundai UK has employed a specialist consultancy to offer administrative support and train staff throughout its franchised network to tackle the fleet market. To reinforce the new deal, Hyundai is also offering fleets free servicing for three years or 30,000 miles - worth about £400 at current rates - on top of its three-year unlimited warranty and RAC breakdown assistance.

Commercial manager Ian White said the new initiatives were designed to set Hyundai apart from other emerging manufacturers who were trying to emulate the established players in their pursuit of fleet sales. White believes the 30,000-mile threshold is sufficient to meet the needs of the user-choosers and local businesses Hyundai is targeting as opposed to high mileage large fleet drivers. The importer is hoping to increase sales to 29,000 next year - with at least an extra 1,000 business sales generated by the arrival of its new van late last year.
