100mpg Audi mini confirmed

AUDI has confirmed that it will build a supermini capable of returning almost 100mpg before the turn of the century. The new aluminium model will be built at Audi's Neckarsulm, Bavaria, factory, and production is set to start in 1999. Annual production capacity will be around 50,000 units, but the revolutionary new vehicle - dubbed the A2 - is unlikely to reach Britain before the millennium.
