TWO non-executive director appointments have been made by Avis Europe following its decision to return to the London Stock Exchange after an eight-year absence.

Sir Bob Reid has joined the board following an international career during which he was chairman and chief executive of Shell UK and between 1990 and 1995 was chairman of the British Railways Board. And Daniel Cardon joins Avis Europe's board after a career with the European Commission and later in banking. In 1992 he was appointed president and chief executive officer of Bank Brussels Lambert and is currently honorary president. He is also honorary director general of the European Commission.
