The event, organised by EMAP Automotive - publisher of Fleet NewsNet - and held for the first time last year in Rome, will be held at the Hotel Fira Palace on May 14 and 15. It will follow an ECATRA assembly meeting at the hotel on May 12 and 13.

The theme of the congress will be the future of the rental and leasing industries as we move into the next century, and speakers so far confirmed include Dr Werner Becker, of Deutsche Bank; Hertz Europe president Antoine Cau; and ABN Amrolease Holdings director Hugo Levecke.

The cost per delegate is £325 for non-ECATRA members and £295 for members. This includes attendance to all congress sessions, lunch on the first day, cocktail party and gala dinner attendance and a copy of speakers' notes. Assembly delegates will be charged £195, covering attendance to both the assembly meeting and congress. The fee for partners is £195 including lunch on the first day, evening functions and trips to some of the area's major tourist attractions.
