HYUNDAI is to return to the UK light commercial vehicle market in mid-1997 with the H100 - a range of panel vans and chassis cabs which has resulted in booming sales on the continent.

Later this year Hyundai will import two derivatives of the H100 panel vans with a choice of 2.4 petrol or 2.5D engines. They will be followed early next year by imports of the new H-1 which will be sold with a choice of 2.4 petrol or 2.5 TD engines in both short and long wheel base guise. Hyundai says short wheelbase H-1 models with multi-link rear suspension will cater for MPV buyers, while the long wheelbase model with leaf-spring rear suspension will be aimed at small businesses and entrepreneurs.
