GLOBAL insurer Zurich International has launched a worldwide motor fleet policy. The policy achieves economies of scale by treating vehicles in several countries as a single fleet, thus minimising administration and allowing international control of cost and risk. All policies will be issued locally, with all the risk reinsured back to the initiating country.

Zurich said 'International Fleet Solutions' was developed as a result of detailed research which revealed that over two-thirds of companies operating fleets would welcome an international policy.

International Fleet Solutions can cover any category of vehicle and business. It will also harmonise international primary coverage, centralise loss information, and provide localised claims handling for speed and efficiency, said Zurich. Zurich guarantees to inspect any vehicle within 96 hours of an accident being reported, and has local networks of bodyshops and hire vehicle operators. It will also provide policyholders with consistent global risk management information.
