The new 940 Torslanda estate has revised standard specification allowing Volvo to price it at £1,675 less than Volvo's previous base 940 estate. The £16,520 vehicle includes driver front and side airbags, ABS brakes, headlamp wash/wipe, power steering, front fog lights, split/folding rear seats, central locking and a luggage cover. A three-year/60,000 manufacturer warranty is also standard.

Powered by the 135bhp 2.3 light pressure turbo, the Torslanda has reasonable performance, but will be bought more for its outstanding load-carrying capacity: 35cu ft of loadspace and room for five adults (75cu ft with the rear seats folded down).
