A RECORD number of fleet industry companies will be competing in the 1997 Fleet News Regatta to be staged over three days on the Solent next month. The final touches are now being put in place for the Regatta, now in its fifth year and based at Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

During the three days almost 60 Sunsail Jeanneua Sunfast 36 racing yachts will be taking part with each yacht worth more than £100,000. Each yacht will be crewed by staff and guests of a fleet industry company under the expert eye of a qualified skipper and crew member.

Companies taking part in the 1997 Regatta, which sees many companies making their event debut, are: Alamo Rent a Car, Autoglass, BRS Car Lease, BSM Fleet Training, Citroen, Daewoo, Drive and Survive, EMAP Automotive, EuroDollar, Fleet Motor Show, Fleet News, Ford Credit Europe, Ford, Masterdrive, Mercedes Benz, New Driving Initiative (not New Driving International as listed in the information packs already sent to guests), Nissan, the Oxford Partnership, PHH Vehicle Management Services, Powermarque, Saab, Thrifty Car Rental, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volvo and Zenith Vehicle Contracts.
