MAIL order giant Grattan has ordered a new Car Fleet Control fleet management software package for its 580-vehicle fleet. Based in Bradford, the company has opted for Car Fleet Control's EuroFleet system for larger fleets to replace ageing software which had been written in-house.

Fleet engineer Ted Bolt said: 'The previous system was 15 years old and had been updated several times but was beyond salvage.' The Grattan fleet consists of 260 cars of varying marques and 320 commercial vehicles ranging from five 1cwt vans to full HGV trailer units.

Bolt added: 'We are using the package for a couple of months to see how well it fits in with our operations as a standard package. At the end of that period we will look at modifications which need making so that it sits well with our way of doing things.'
