It follows a number of initiatives taken by Budget in an effort to make the company as 'green' as possible, and to encourage customers to take up environmentally-friendly options such as car sharing. Electronic cars are available through Budget's WorldClass Fleet in Paris and Lyon, while in the UK and Scandinavian countries natural gas powered and methanol powered vehicles can be hired.

The company has also introduced recycling initiatives, with all used motor oil recycled in the USA and all paper and cans recycled at Budget's European office. Preventative measures include double-walled motor oil and fuel storage tanks and electronic monitoring of contents.
