FORD has launched a new Galaxy model and introduced a series of specification enhancements to the Galaxy, Mondeo, Escort and Fiesta. The new Galaxy Si is available with a 2.3-litre engine at £19,490 on-the-road and with a 2.8-litre V6 unit for £22,300 on-the-road and air conditioning becomes standard across the entire Galaxy range.

The new Si also has front electric windows, RDS radio/cassette player, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, heated windscreen and rear heater, central/double locking, engine immobiliser and ABS. External features include front and rear spoilers, side skirts, front fog lights and alloy wheels. The 2.8 V6 version also has cruise control and trip computer.

Other changes to the Galaxy range include the introduction of passenger airbag as standard on Ghia and Ghia X models, optional leather seats on Ghia X models and centre high mounted stop lamp standard on all models.

The Mondeo Ghia V6 and Mondeo Si V6 get air conditioning in lieu of sunroof as standard. The Si V6 also gets 12-spoke alloy wheels. All Escort models are given tinted glass and high mounted rear stop lamps as standard, with remote central locking and traction control available as options. Fiesta Si models, meanwhile, get standard central locking, electric front windows, remote tailgate release and front fog lights.
