Axis opts for Volvo S40 TDs

A FLEET of 16 Volvo S40 turbo diesels has been delivered to Kent-based facilities management company Axis Europe by Knights Volvo, also based in the county. The cars will be driven by staff from maintenance engineers to the sales force and were selected following a lengthy search for 'the right type of vehicle'.

Axis' chief executive Tony Petty said: 'The Volvo S40 offered the overall package, competitive wholelife costs, excellent quality, performance, economy, styling and safety and were built to our own specification.'

Powered by a 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine, the S40 has a top speed of 112 mph and 0-62mph of 12.6 seconds. Prices start at £16,125 OTR.
