FLEET and finance remarketing specialist Cars Direct has bought Northampton-based rental company Abington Vehicle Hire. The rental operation will be aimed at corporate customers, helping to meet growing demands from Cars Direct customers seeking a wider range of services.

Abington Vehicle Hire operates 30 cars and commercial vehicles from a single base, but Cars Direct plans to expand the fleet to 100 vehicles by the end of this year. Once targets are met at the Northampton base, the company will look at expanding to other areas.
