THE 1999 Fleet Motor Show will be held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from April 27-29. The new-look, three-day show will be a 100% business event - with no driving facility. It will be the focal point of a 'fleet week' which is expected to feature a gala dinner and associated business-related seminars exploring key fleet industry issues.

The change of emphasis follows extensive research and discussions with vehicle manufacturers and service companies by show organiser Emap Automotive, publisher of Fleet NewsNet. Show sales manager Matthew Weight said: 'As organiser we are committed to providing exhibitors with the best possible audience and the changes are designed to attract the right decision-makers for the event. At focus meetings following this year's show, there was significant support for a pure business event.'

Event manager Chris Lester added: 'The show will now offer large fleet operators a venue to meet all the major fleet players and ensure they are fully up to date with the latest industry innovations. It will also offer smaller fleet operators the chance to see new products and services and learn about the many ways in which they can improve the efficiency of their fleets.'
