FLEET managers who are not members of the Institute of Car Fleet Management and want to compete for a place on the new RAC Scholarship Awards Scheme have just two weeks to apply. Those who are already in the Institute at 'Member' level but who have not registered their intention to try for a place on the first scholarship programme, starting this summer, are urged to request application forms.

February 20 is the deadline for applications for the £50,000 fleet manager training scheme, supported and funded by the RAC and run in conjunction with the ICFM (Fleet News November 7, 1997). It runs over three years and involves the sponsorship of two, consecutive, 16-month training programmes, leading to an RAC Scholarship Award, an ICFM Diploma in Car Fleet Management and probably election as an ICFM Fellow.

The scholarship scheme has attracted 49 inquiries to date and formal scholarship application forms have been sent to 16 fleet managers. Further details on ICFM membership and the Awards scheme from Wendy Hancocks at the ICFM on 01844 261828.
