MORE than 9,000 fleet decision-makers have registered for the 1998 Fleet Motor Show with six weeks to go until the four-day event opens and two of the UK's leading contract hire and leasing companies have just booked exhibition space. The special registration hotline for the show, which takes place at Donington Park, East Midlands, from May 11-14, is taking calls at the rate of up to 35 a day. The first cards acknowledging registration have been posted and tickets will be distributed next month.

In addition show organisers have sent out the second batch of pre-registration mailing and this week exhibitors were due to distribute invitations to the show to their client base. Last year 25,000 people pre-registered to attend the show, with more than 10,000 attending and organisers say they are on target to hit a similar pre-registration figure this year.

Both Swan National and ACL have joined the growing list of contract hire and leasing companies exhibiting. A number of other contract hire and leasing companies are close to confirming attendance. Following last week's Budget and the forthcoming transport white paper, which is due to be published in May, the show will provide fleet decision-makers with the ideal platform to discuss the implications with industry providers.
