Calor and Halfords in joint LPG venture

CALOR Autogas has announced a joint initiative with Halfords to make gas-powered vehicles far more accessible to fleets. The tie-up, announced on Wednesday, will see Halfords offer vehicle conversions to gas, service gas-powered vehicles and sell liquefied petroleum gas.

The programme will start in London, and depending upon its success, could be rolled out to up to 135 Halfords stores nationwide. The Budget was extremely favourable for gas-powered vehicles, increasing the duty differential between autogas and petrol and diesel, and exempting the cost of converting a company car to run on gas from drivers' benefit-in-kind calculations.
