ROVER has introduced four new derivatives of the 600 specifically designed to offer company car drivers added extras while not hitting fleet managers' budgets too hard. Rover Group director corporate sales Steve Harris said the moves build on the success of the series of 600 range product enhancements introduced in January 1997, which resulted in growth in sales to the fleet market in 1997.

The 618iS and 620iSD feature air conditioning, alloy wheels with low-profile tyres, half-leather with Silverstone cloth sports style seats, sports suspension, front fog lights, electric and heated door mirrors and, on the 618iS, chrome tailpipe finisher. The 618iL and 620iLD also air conditioning and alloy wheels, this time with radial ply tyres. They also feature leather seat facings, as on the GSi, additional console wood, rear door sill tread strips and electric and heated door mirrors.

To coincide with the launch of the new derivatives, Rover has deleted from the range the 618i automatic, 618i automatic and air conditioning, 618Si manual and automatic and the 620SDi.
