Transport minister sacked

TRANSPORT Minister Gavin Strang was sacked in Prime Minister Tony Blair's first Cabinet reshuffle on Monday.

Strang, whose role was overshadowed by Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott who was in charge of the 'super ministry' combining environment, transport and the regions, has been replaced by former Armed Forces Minister John Reid.
