VAUXHALL is chasing after new fleet customers after signing up Michelin, ATS and WS Tyremaster to create a new national tyres programme throughout its dealership network. It will provide a comprehensive repair, replacement and advice service for all Vauxhall's 420 dealers, including those with a service.
A dedicated phone ordering facility allows Vauxhall dealers to purchase the full Michelin range for stock, while premium and budget brand tyres can be delivered within a matter of hours via the local ATS depot. WS Tyremaster will provide alternative sourcing.
Vauxhall is using the scheme to start hunting down fleet business which might otherwise have gone to specialist tyre centres. The service has already secured a major customer, Jessups Vehicle Contracts, based in Hoddesdon. The 8,300-strong fleet's 1,600 Vauxhall will now have their tyres fitted at Vauxhall dealerships during services.
