FLEETS could soon be cashing in on the launch of the Institute of Advanced Motorists' car buying club. The IAM Car Purchase Plan is promising discounts on new and used car prices for all 110,000 IAM members, through a partnership with five dealership groups

The Institute says there will be no fixed rate reduction, but claims that its bulk-buying power means discounts will be far better than most other dealers in the country can offer. More than 20 marques are covered under the scheme, including Land Rover, Audi, BMW, Ford, Honda and Rover. These are being offered through the dealership groups, Page Motors, Tice Motors, Bristol Street Motors, Derek Warwick and Westover Motors, at their Poole franchises in Dorset.

The IAM says fleets showing that all or a significant number of drivers are qualified advanced motorists could gain the discount levels which will be at the dealers' discretion. And both business and individual buyers will not have to travel south, as all of the dealership will deliver cars to anywhere in the UK, arrange all finance details, and collect used cars as trade-ins.
