VOLKSWAGEN has announced the pricing for its new Bora four-door saloon which can be ordered from the middle of this month. At around £1,000 below the Passat and about £1,000 more than the Golf the Bora slips in between the two and VW is looking to sell 15,000 units per year by the end of next year - of these Volkswagen expects about 70% to go to fleets.

Standard features include driver, passenger and side airbags; ABS; disc brakes; power steering; central locking; steering wheel height and reach adjustment; front and rear electric windows; child seat fixing points; cup holders front and rear; recirculating air mode; and full-size spare wheel. Available in four trim levels and a choice of five engines, petrol and diesel, the range starts with the 1.6 S 100bhp five-speed manual at £14,395 on-the-road and 1.9 S TDI 90bhp five-speed manual at £15,425.

At the top of the range the 2.3 V5 150bhp five-speed manual is £19,055 and the 2.3 V5 150bhp four-speed auto is £19,880. Both the Bora and Volkswagen's new supermini Lupo, which can also be ordered from the middle of this month, can be seen at the Fleet Show at the NEC, Birmingham from April 27-29.
