SOLAGLAS has eased some of its fleet management burden with the introduction of a new software system. The Coventry-based company, which provides glazing for the construction industry, says the ability to now read data from Ford's central billing system is helping it maximise the efficiencies available from Car Fleet Control's Eurofleet system.

Its fleet is contract hired, and consists of 300 cars and 300 light commercial vehicles supplied through a solus Ford deal. The Car Fleet Control fleet management software imports data about Ford dealer servicing and other purchases every week by disk. Soon, a modem link will automatically update vehicle records.

Mike Beck, Solaglass's group transport administrator, said: 'The main advantage we have noticed from using the new software is the ease with which pertinent management information can be formatted into reports which allow us to make much better informed fleet decisions.'
