Fire authority gives lease contract to five companies

GREATER Manchester Fire and Civil Defence Authority has awarded a car leasing contract for officers' vehicles to five contract hire firms.

British Car Contracts, Cochranes, Arnold Clark, Automotive Leasing and First National Contracts will provide vehicles for officers who take up the option of contract hiring a vehicle rather than buying their own and claiming business mileage. If all eligible officers went for the scheme if could mean 200 contract hire cars up for grabs.
