HALFORDS Autofleet has launched a central booking call centre for its fleet customers. It will be based at Lakeside, Redditch, and offers an alternative to the implant concept for fleets of all sizes. Fleet drivers will be able to call the centre, via a dedicated phone number, for a one-stop-shop booking facility for all service and repair work.

Under a system of progress chasing, when a car has been booked into a Halfords centre, the call centre will telephone mid-afternoon to check that the work is on schedule. If delays are unavoidable, it can then find a solution without inconveniencing the driver, such as organising a courtesy car.

National sales manager Steve Bowen, said: 'The centre will complement our existing programme of implants to deliver dramatic improvements in the operating efficiency of their fleets.' He added that major fleets have increased their use of Halfords Autofleet by more than 40% in the last year.
