AN array of congestion-beating hardware has been launched by the RAC. Developed jointly with Trafficmaster, the breakthroughs included everything from a rearview mirror which warns of congestion ahead, to a fleet consultation service on how to better manage journey patterns.

Fleets can now take advantage of the RAC Traffic Adviser, a live up-to-the-minute traffic and journey time information system which feeds information direct to users' office IT networks.

Andy Duxbury, head of RAC Trafficmaster Telematics business development, said: 'RAC Traffic Adviser is a far more direct and less time-consuming route by which staff can instantly tap into a live, on-line traffic and travel information service through their company's own existing Intranet network. No distracting surfing of the worldwide web is required.'
