BRITAIN'S No.1 car manufacturer is to publish carbon dioxide emission figures for all its vehicles in all brochures in a bid to help fleet managers and company car drivers select the 'cleanest' company cars.

Ford's move came within 24 hours of sister publication Fleet News launching its 'CO2 Confusion: Clear Up Clean Up' campaign in which it calls on all manufacturers to include CO2 emission figures alongside list prices in all publicity and on dealer fleet invoices. Leasing companies are also urged to ensure that cars' CO2 performance is included with list prices on all paperwork supplied to fleets.

Nick Themistocleous, Ford's fleet marketing manager, said: 'The figures will be going into all our brochures at the next reprint and we are sure there will be significant demand for these figures. Our Internet site will probably be the first area up and running with the data.'
