FINAL registrations are called for as competition hots up for the 40 team places in the 1999 Five-A-Side Charity Challenge in aid of Motability, sponsored by sister title Fleet News, RAC and Royal & SunAlliance. Thirty-two teams from the fleet and motor manufacturing industry have so far formally registered for the tournament - to be held on July 3 at Villa Park - and seven more are trying to confirm their teams in time to secure a place.

All places are allocated on a first-to-pay-up basis and tournament organiser Jo Foster said: 'We really need final registrations now. If they haven't already done so, registered teams also need to get their entry fees in - fast.' Entry costs £300 per team and fees can be paid by company cheque or Visa card. Top prize is eight tickets for the England v Luxembourg Euro 2000 qualifying game on September 4. Registered teams will again be asked to support a Challenge raffle: prizes here include tickets to the British Grand Prix and a top West End show. The team raising the most money through sales of charity raffle tickets or other initiatives will win a full-hospitality 20-seat box at the Liverpool FC ground for one match next season.
