The other four vehicles will also be used for ambulance work, but not for rapid response emergencies. All of the CR-Vs will operate for 16 hours a day, seven days a week, across the region. A Honda spokesman said: 'This is an endorsement in the reliability of our product, displaying its versatility, performance and practicality.'

HONDA has won a fleet deal with the East Anglian Ambulance Service to supply it with 10 vehicles, six of which will be satellite navigation-guided hi-tech ambulances. All 10 of the paramedic-manned vehicles will be four-wheel-drive CR-Vs, with the six rapid response vehicles using global positioning satellites to guide them to incidents in faster time.
