A NEW hotline service has been set up by alternative fuel conversion company LPG Systems to provide instant answers on how much fleets can save by going green. The firm's SIZZLE computer program compared the cost of running a petrol or diesel fleet over a set mileage with the cost of running a fleet using liquefied petroleum gas.

LPG Systems sales director Barry Luff said: 'We visited a photographic company with a fuel bill of about £1million and showed it would save a third of that by switching fuels. As most of the fleet was depot-based, the firm can save even more money by installing its own bulk tanks.'

LPG Systems is a specialist importer of LPG conversions and already has seven operating centres running under the company's chairman, Arthur Large. Among the vehicles it is supplying conversions for is the Ford Ka van.
