FLEET drivers can see for themselves just how their cars compare to older, dirtier models during a free emissions testing week. The event, called 'Stop Fuming', will be launched by Transport Minister Helen Liddell a week on September 20 and run until September 25. Fiat, Ford, Honda, Nissan, Peugeot, Vauxhall and VW are all helping with emissions testing - which takes about five minutes and is supported by all members of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

Tests will be carried out at BP fuel stations, Safeway and Mothercare car parks in the event, which is running in support of the Government's 'Do Your Bit' campaign to encourage efficient use of energy. A helpline has been set up for fleets wanting to get details of their nearest testing station. The number is 0800 7837838.
