HYUNDAI has become the latest manufacturer to slash the list price of some of its vehicles following a series of limited period offers. The Accent range now starts at £7,199 for the 1.3i - down £500 - and similar price cuts apply to the 1.3 Si now costing £7,999 on the road, the 1.3 GSi (£8,499) and 1.5 CDX (£9,499). The price of the sporting 1.5 MVi has been reduced by £700 to £9,999.

Prices of the Hyundai Coupe range have been cut by £1,100 with the 1.6i now costing £12,899, the 1.6 SE (£14,299) and the 2.0 SE (£16,299).

Meanwhile, the Sonata range now starts at £12,999 for the 2.0 GSi (down £1,005) with the CDX reduced by the same amount to £14,499 and the range-topping 2.5 V6 now costing £17,999.

*PROTON has cut the price of its 1.8 Satria GTi by more than 10% to £12,999 making the 'pocket rocket' cheaper than rivals which include the Fiat Punto 1.8 HGT, Peugeot 206 2.0 GTi, Rover 25 1.8 VVC GTi and Vauxhall Astra 1.8 SRi. The £1,500 price reduction follows a 12% reduction on Satria and Wira models in August.
