MITSUBISHI'S latest round of price cuts ensures its upper-medium car, the Carisma, remains competitive against cars like the new Ford Mondeo and lower-priced Vauxhall Vectra.

The latest price cuts, effective from January 1, range from £300 off an entry-level Mitsubishi Carisma Equippe 1.8 GDI, bringing the price down to £13,995, to £3,500 off a Shogun 3.2TD Equippe, now £29,995.

Colts are reduced by up to £600, Space Stars are cut by up to £400 and have more equipment, and Mitsubishi's four wheel drive vehicles are down from £505 for the five-door Shogun Pinin to an average of £3,100 on Shoguns. Galant prices and the entry-level Colt are unchanged.
