FLEET News is to hold a Budget Briefing for fleet chiefs to find out from fleet and tax experts the impact on their businesses of Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown's March 21 Budget. This year, there will be a significant impact on both fleet operations and company car drivers, as Brown is expected to announce details of the carbon dioxide-based company car tax system due to come into effect in April 2002 and the graduated Vehicle Excise Duty system due for launch in the autumn.

The third successive Fleet News Budget Briefing will be held on Thursday, March 30 at Sopwell House, St Albans, Hertfordshire, starting at 10.30am and will be followed by a buffet lunch. Speakers will be: a senior tax partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers; Simon Richmond, managing director of contract hire and leasing company ACL Autolease; Stewart Whyte, managing director of Fleet Audits, Association of Car Fleet Operators director and a Fleet News columnist, who will be sponsored by Kwik-Fit Fleet; and a representative of Avis Rent-A-Car.

The cost of attending the Fleet News Budget Briefing is £95 per delegate. Discounts are available for group bookings. To reserve your place contact Charlotte Cunningham at Fleet News on 01733 467038.
