Ford recalls Focus models

Ford is recalling 100,000 Focus models to replace oil filler caps, carry out engine compartment checks and re-programme the powertrain control module.

In the UK 81,000 1999-2000 model year Focuses with 1.8 and 2.0-litre Zetec petrol engines are to be fitted with redesigned oil filler caps after it was found that some may come adrift and allow oil to be sprayed round the engine compartment. A routine check of wiring and other engine compartment components will be made.
