A YEAR after making its debut at the Fleet Show, Peugeot's 206 van has finally gone on sale. Based on the successful 206 car, the van variant is on sale now priced at £8,000 plus VAT.

It is the success of the 206 car that has delayed production of its van sister, with the Ryton factory giving priority to car production. Now, Ryton will be producing 1,000 206 vans a year for the UK market.

As a car-derived van, the 206 offers plenty of driver comfort, as well as more than a cubic metre of load capacity and a payload of 525kg. Standard equipment includes an engine immobiliser, loadspace bulkhead and a concealed passenger seat storage area, driver's airbag, distance to next service indicator, tinted glass, power steering, pollen filter and height adjustable seatbelts and steering column.
