CENTURY Car Rental, formerly Century International, says it is eager to take on the daily rental market following a series of management changes. Century International went into administration earlier this year and was sold in March, starting an overhaul of senior management.

Andy Leedan, a fleet director in the previous company and now its co-director, who works alongside former vehicle purchasing director Jim Thorpe, said the new firm was strong enough to compete in a cut-throat industry because its problems had not stemmed from residual value losses and other issues afflicting rivals, although he would not specify what put the previous firm into administration.
