THRIFTY Car Rental UK has launched an online used car sales operation initially featuring around 200 ex-daily rental cars. The new initiative is one of several introduced on the company's website.

Thrifty believes both trade and retail buyers will look to buy used cars on the web. The section allows buyers to search for vehicles by type or price with the initial vehicles including Renaults, BMWs, Toyotas and Fords. Thrifty sales and marketing director Andrew Burton said: 'By launching services online we are reaching new customers and by dealing with them directly we are able to meet their needs.'
