A BATTLE royal is brewing as leasing companies fighting for market share drive up service standards for fleets. The latest round of acquisitions and alliances is set to spark a drive to win new business, according to the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association.

As well as the PHH/Arval alliance and the purchase of Dial by Lease Plan, Lex Vehicle Leasing is planning a series of acquisitions, while Powermarque is also planning expansion and GE Capital Fleet Services saying it expects to be the number one player in the UK. The prediction follows a call from Associates Fleet Services for fleets to look past the price tag and concentrate on the quality of service they will receive.
