Global survey slams road pricing

A WORLDWIDE survey of road pricing and congestion charging proposals and schemes shows that the vast majority are highly unpopular, few get implemented, and, where they do, the cash raised is likely to end up being plundered for uses other than transport.

Consequently, the survey involving motoring organisations in 22 countries, including the AA, shows UK politicians face an uphill battle to convince drivers on the merits of road pricing.
