Renault is launching an internet scheme to sell low-mileage cars and vans vetted by the RAC. Renault To Go Online (RTGO) will become the main source of disposal for the company's own cars - starting with 12,000 next year, and rising to 20,000 by 2003.

Andrew Luck, commercial operations director of Renault UK, said: 'Making Renault To Go vehicles freely available on the internet is the next logical progression. All vehicles are former rental cars or demonstrators - all previously owned by Renault UK - and sold with 12 months' RAC cover.

The scheme is separate from the Renault dealers' online site, which offers a wider range of vehicles, although there will be hot links from one to the other. RTGO could be expanded in the long term to provide disposal for fleet customers, although it would only apply to Renault UK vehicles.
