CITROEN has announced a number of changes for 2001 to its C15 Champ and Relay ranges. The Champ gains a new larger capacity cleaner diesel engine. The present 1.8-litre diesel powerplant is replaced with the Euro lll emission rated 1.9-litre unit, offering 60bhp at 4,600rpm and 77lb-ft of torque at 2,500rpm.

The D600 van costs £6,695 ex-VAT and the D765 with power steering costs £7,445 ex-VAT. Citroen is also offering a £1,000 cashback deal with zero and low rate finance options until March 31. Meanwhile, the Relay range has been extended with a higher power version of the short wheelbase 1000D van. Previously it was only available with a 71bhp 1.9-litre engine but can now be ordered with the 86bhp 2.5-litre diesel unit.

And the new 2.8-litre HDi engine powers the new 3.2-tonne Relay 1400 HDi medium wheelbase model. This common rail powerplant has 127bhp on tap at 3,600rpm and comes with a price tag of £16,700 ex-VAT.
