IN a bid to reduce fleet running costs and cut carbon dioxide emissions Capital Holdings, the packaging board and paper supplier and processor, has taken delivery of 55 new Mercedes-Benz cars.

By taking delivery of 30 A-class, 20 C-class Sports Coupe and five E-class saloons and estates, the whole fleet now wears the three-pointed star.

Paul Spring, joint group managing director, said: 'We know that Mercedes are reliable and durable cars, but we are convinced that running 'cheaper' cars is often a false economy. Our vehicles are used for high mileage work and we cannot afford for them or their drivers to be stranded off the road.'
