FORD is reassuring fleets that a major management shake-up which jettisoned its controversial chief executive Jac Nasser will not jeopardise initiatives for UK fleets.

Early reaction to the change raised a question mark over the future of the Premier Automotive Group, an umbrella organisation created under Nasser to represent Ford-owned products, including Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin.

These marques share Ford's fleet expertise and resources at Ford's Business Centre in Byfleet, that has become a focal point for corporate enquiries from customers of all brands.

Mike Wear, Ford's fleet director, insisted key initiatives for fleets, including the business centre would be unaffected. He said: 'As far as the UK is concerned, there is no change and the business centre will continue to grow.'
