More Renaults join the British Gas fleet

BRITISH Gas has taken delivery of a new batch of Renault Kangoo and Master vans as part of a 1,400-vehicle deal.

The ongoing supply deal will see 1,200 Kangoos and 200 Master vans added to the utility firm's 6,000-vehicle fleet, where they will be used by engineers for home services and for maintenance and repair work for gas and electrical equipment.

The Kangoo vans are 865D side-loading vehicles, with 1.9-litre diesel engines and a payload of 800kg, offering 65bhp and 41.5mpg average fuel consumption. The Master vans are SL33dCi common rail diesels, providing 90bhp from a 2.2-litre unit.
