DAEWOO'S Worthing Technical Centre in Sussex has been sold to Oxford-based engineering group TWR for an undisclosed sum as part of the manufacturer's global restructuring plan. Daewoo will now consolidate its research and development operations in South Korea. All staff will have their employment transferred to TWR.

The centre, which helped develop the Daewoo Matiz, will still be used to develop new technology while the Bupyong Technical Centre in Seoul, South Korea, will carry out designs for future Daewoo products.
